FAQ

Looking for answers when starting or considering taking a new medicine? While your healthcare provider should always be your primary source, helpful information can also be found below.

  • What is the maximum amount of weight that can be lost?
In a 68-week medical trial involving 1,961 adults with obesity or excess weight and related medical conditions, participants lost around ~15% of their body weight or approximately 35 lbs on average. In comparison, those taking a placebo lost only about ~2.5% of their body weight or roughly ~6 lbs. The study began with an average starting weight of ~232 lbs for both groups. In a 68-week medical study of overweight adults with related health conditions, those who took Wegovyâ„¢ alongside a reduced-calorie meal plan and increased physical activity showed promising results. However, 7% of individuals taking Wegovyâ„¢ (92 people) left the study due to side effects, compared to 3.1% taking placebo (20 people).
  • What is the expected timeline for weight loss?
The timeline for seeing results from medication varies based on individual response. Consult your healthcare provider for realistic expectations.
  • Can there be adverse reactions?
If you experience discomforts such as nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, stomach pain, headache, fatigue, dizziness, bloating, belching, gas, or heartburn while taking this medication, it's important to inform your healthcare provider.
  • Can I bring my medication while travelling?
Of course! It is advised to pack your pen in your carry-on when flying because it can freeze in the cargo hold of the aircraft. If your airline has particular baggage policies, inquire with them.
  • Is there a specific time of day to take it?
Yes, it is advised that you take it at a time that is most convenient for you on the same day each week.
  • Is it possible to reschedule the day I take it?
As long as your last dose was administered two days prior or more, you are free to switch the day of the week on which you take it.
  • Will my insurance policy cover the weight loss program?
To find out which insurance may or may not cover it, visit our Financing page or get in touch with your insurance company.
  • What if I know my insurance won't cover the medicine?
No worries! We have 1 year same as cash financing program, contact us to find out more.
  • Looking for the proper way to dispose of a pen?
Don't dispose of the pen in your household garbage. Use a sturdy household container with a tight-fitting lid, such as a heavy-duty plastic container, or a sharps disposal container that has been approved by the FDA.
  • What should I do if a dose is missed?
Take the missing dose as soon as you remember if you miss a dose and the next one is more than 2 days (48 hours) away. Don't administer the medication if you miss a dose and it will be fewer than two days before the next one is due. Await your subsequent scheduled dose. Call your doctor to discuss how to continue your treatment if you miss doses for longer than two weeks. On the day that is usually set aside for it, you can take your next dose.
  • How should I proceed if the liquid in my pen isn't clear?
PLEASE DO NOT USE your medication if it is not always clear and colourless. For a replacement, get in touch with us right away.
  • Should I eat before or after I take my medication?
You have a choice as to whether to take your medication with or without food.
